I am a Chicago mom and a nationally recognized education policy expert running for Chicago School Board driven by a commitment to you, not political sides. With a PhD in Education and a background in Economics, my life’s work has been to advocate for a world-class teaching force because the research indicates that teachers matter more than anything else in our schools.
I have worked with the Illinois State Board of Education and Illinois lawmakers to ensure every student has the excellent teachers they need and deserve. I also led the introduction of the American Teacher Act to the U.S. Congress that would raise teacher pay to a minimum of $60,000 nationwide.
CPS should be a place where every family wants to send their children and where every child feels safe, welcomed, and able to grow into their best selves. I will bring policy expertise, national perspective, a focus on research, and a commitment to working collaboratively and constructively with all stakeholders to make CPS the #1 school district in the nation.
